One day at a time

Throughout my life as a Christ follower I've been told more times than I can count, that if I truly love Christ then it will unreasonable love will flow through me, and I will have a new found love for people I don't even know. For many years this was something that I put on the back burner of my mind, thinking it is ridiculous to love someone I don't know. Recently I have chosen to compete in Mr. Dallas, and annual competition among high school men to raise money for Doernbecher Children's Hospital. As I have been fundraising the past month and a half I have come to realize that the money I used to dedicate to things like iTunes and Mt. Dew, are now focused more on giving to this hospital to save these kids I've never met, nor do I even have a name to match who this money is going to. Regardless I have realized that I love these kids, these kids that don't get to go to the movies on the weekend or go to a school dance, these kids don't get to live a normal life and yet they have more heart, fight and will then most of us find in ourselves. My efforts to raise $5000 will continue from now until March and I will fight, drive, and strive to raise this amount for the Tommy fighting cancer, or the jessica that needs a bone marrow transplant, or the everyone that is suffering financially to pay there medical bills. This idea of true love, is an unreal experience, it's something that motivates me on a daily basis and something that I cannot fight against like a raging river.

iDon't beleive it

Since the first big brick like device that held 500 songs and was faithful to break down every six months, peple across the world have fallen in love with the ting called iPod. Walk down the street and stop every person you see and ask if they have one, I can almost promise you that 9 out of 10 people will have one, be itthe first generation, black and white, no photo, no video, brick of and iPod, or the newest iPod touch that can hold photos surf the web play videos, and runs on a 2.5 inch touch screen. Ifind it funny how in thepast 9 years we have devoted our time, energy, and salery to ow the newest one in stores. and as if it wasnt enough to have a web browsing, photo hoding, video sharing, music playing peice of perfection. Apple has taken it onestep urthe and added the aspect of a phone!!! With the iPhone, you can check email, make reservations for dinner, take pictures or video, text message, and call your friends, oh yeah and not to mention it plays music. I admit I myself have fallen victim of thisfirst owning the black iPod nano, and when the iPod video was introduced I again had to own it,and even more recently I have moved on to the iPhone. My point in writing this blog is to show everyone how farwe've come in the last 9 years. In 2000, you were cool if you have a CD player, and now if you walked down the street holding a CD player you would feel like a complete dork. In 9 years Apple has branded the worldwith its logo and if you look under your shirt, most of you will also have the signature of Apple. But then again is it a bad thing to be caught up on the latest technology?

Kulia I Ka Nu'u

Kulia I Ka Nu'u
It is Hawaiian meaning strive for the highest, words to live by. I do not conform to the typical average high school student life as 95% of students do. I do not get straight A's, I do not play 3 sports, and I do not have a burger flipping job at my local McDonalds. Rather I take classes I know I will do well in, and ones that pertain to my future, I spend my spare time volunteering with my local children and family services, and at the age of 18 I am the proud owner of my very own DJ business. I have chosen to make the most of what I am given and I was given a talent to start something that invloves my love for music and bring it to a successful buisiness, I do all I can every day to strive for being the best that I can be, to make my mark and to be known as that guy that made a difference in the world. The kid that impacted the world however small an impact that may be. I dont do it for money and I dont do it for popularity I do what I do because I want to change the world, one song at a time, one party at a time and one city at a time.
